Francisco (Pancho) Villa
Born: June 5, 1878
Died: July 20, 1923
He lived in Dorotea Arango and was Sharecropper when his dad died just to support his family. He then killed the owner of the hacienda because the owner was trying to have sex with his 12 year old sister. He spent some of his years running from the law and living in the mountains where he joined a group of bandits and became there leader. He was like robin hood because he would steal from the rich and give to the poor. He had four siblings and his mother.Francisco Madero asked Villa if he would help him in the revolution so that he could help the poor.Villa became the Provisional Governor of Madero's home town Chihuahua. Villa liked being photographed and he had peace with the U.S. because they would supply him with weapons. Villa beat Huerta at the battle of Ojinaga and then later Carranza tried to sabotage Villa's progress toward Mexico City by sending him to Saltillo. Angeles convinced Villa to once again disobey orders which lead to the final defeat of Huerta in Zacatecas witch was the bloodiest campaign of the revolution. Villa and Rudolfo Fierro were known for the barbaric ways they would dispatch their enemies. Villa lost couple of battles to Carranza's General, Alvaro Obregon. Villa's troops were defeated by Plutarco Elias Calles because they had 20th century technology imported from Europe and Villa's men only had 19th century technology. Because of all these defeats the United States withdrew their support for Villa. Villa took this as betrayal and attacked the border town of Columbus, New Mexico. Villa then had to hide from General John j Pershing but he would not be the same man he once was, so he made an agreement with Alvaro Obregon he then retired and lived in a small town in Chihuahua where he was a farmer. Plutarco Elias Calles didn't want to take any chances that Villa would regain his strength again so he had a team of assassins to kill him. When he was driving to his ranch on July 20, 1923 seven men shot his car which killed Villa.
