He came from a wealthy family but he still cared about people even though he was rich. As a teenager, Madero's interest was Spiritualism like is father and he continued with his interest for the rest of the life. Other interest was homeopathic medicine and made sure that the workers on the farm were treated well. He was a gentle person and went to UC Berkeley in the U.S for agriculture. One of his heroes was Benito Juarez because he knew he stood for democracy. He was tired of Porfirio Diaz being a dictator. Madero formed a organization that promoted democracy and created many newspapers that went against the power of Diaz. In 1910 Diaz would willingly step down and let a democratic be elected as president. Diaz didn't really mean it but Madero was really happy. That same year Madero wrote a book and is was a best-seller and was read all over mexico. Madero explained the Diaz had too much power and he was president for too long. Diaz stopped them from having a democratic government. in 1909 Madero founded the first anti-reelection clubs and were established all over the country. In 1910 Madero was arrested by Diaz's command and went to jail. He got helped out of jail and escaped across the border to Texas. Diaz did hold elections and made himself president again. On November 20, 1910 Madero returned to mexico and started a revolution. Madero attacked Casas Grandes in Chihuahua. November, 1911 he became first new president of mexico in about 30 years. He wanted to go against Diaz but he did not want to break the roles that would go against his family, he sent Huerta to defeat Orozco and he succeeded. They had a big battle called Ten Tragic Days and Huerta lost but then he had Madero and Pino Suarez assassinated and declared him self president.
